Photomerge Assignment Due Today

Your Photomerge assignment is due today during class

March 25th - Work Day Today

Today is a work day for you to work on your Photomerge assignment which will be due Wednesday March 27th.

Project No. 4 - Photomerge

For this project you'll be required to create 4 different photo-merges using photohop.

Each photomerge:

• Should contain at least 4 images in each of the 4 photomerges
• Must be photographed by YOU
• Must be color corrected, cropped, touched-up, etc.
• Fill in any gaps if applicable

Project No. 3 - Image Manipulation

For this next project you'll need to do the following:

• Take 10 photographs
• Color Correct, crop, dust touch-up, local contrast adjustments, etc each one
• Do one major manipulation to each photograph ie:
  • Add a sky
  • Face swap
  • Remove something in the image
  • Add something to the image (birds, trees etc)
  • Use your imagination
• Make 5 of them black and white

Today we'll be doing an in-class assignment - You'll need to download the images below. We'll be touching up a black and white scanned image, and converting a couple images from color to black and white.

We will be fixing their contrast with layer adjustment styles, manipulating local contrast using masks, dodging, and buring

Extra Credit to anyone that attends the "Out of the Darkroom" photography exhibit tonight - sorry for the short notice. I'll be there as I have 2 photographs that were selected.

Feb 11 - Lab Day

Lab day - work on your DVD cover assignment.

Assignment No. 2 - DVD Cover

Our next project will be to create a DVD Cover.

Criteria:

• Use at least 3 of your own photographs
• You must use type
• Use at least 2 other graphical elements (shapes, etc)

Process:

• Come up with either an existing movie or make one up to design the cover for.
• Brainstorm ideas for the cover, title, fonts, etc.
• Study industry standards, existing covers
• Photograph needed images for your concept
• Layout the front/rear cover
• Print the cover and insert it into a DVD case

You'll need the following assets:
